JORDAN 3 RETRO
The Air Jordan III was a decisive shoe in the relationship between Nike and Michael Jordan. In ’87, the meetings about the new designs were not going well. Tinker Hatfield was commissioned for this project, which was still no more than a folder, with only one line of explanation: “Try to do something with this.”
Hatfield had just finished his work on the Air Pack, which included the Air Revolution basketball shoes. He opened the folder and found a starting point for the creation of a new logo: a paper image of Jordan’s famous dunk with his legs spread.
