In the late ’80s, when Michael Jordan was a young player looking for careers in the summer, he almost always found them. The only thing is that he probably wouldn’t find out about his exploits until after they had already taken place. As history points out, Jordan is among the fiercest players to pick up a ball. An issue that did not end because the regular season or the playoffs did.

His tenacity during the summer races is legendary. Jordan amassed a run of summer games that often rival his league-defining performances. And while those largely unseen games may not seem to have the meaning of widely-seen NBA games that will never leave our collective memories, the mythology of those games can be appreciated through a different lens; it is not necessary to compare the two. They can exist and be celebrated as separate entities.
